Gökhan Günaydın criticizes detained Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu

YENİ Parti Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın has issued strong criticisms regarding the detention of Etimesgut Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu. Beşikçioğlu was detained following an investigation by the Ankara West Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Etimesgut Municipality for offenses including bribery, embezzlement, and forming a criminal organization.

Following reports that Beşikçioğlu tested positive for drugs during mandatory testing, Günaydın criticized the mayor's conduct. He stated, "The man uses drugs. The mayor uses it, his deputy uses it. How are you performing public duties? I cannot say 'this is his private life.'" Günaydın argued that individuals in politics must maintain certain standards for both their private and public lives.

Additionally, during a party event in Borçka, Günaydın addressed the political climate, calling for accountability and urging opponents not to avoid elections or interfere with the democratic voting process.
