YENİ Party MPs raise concerns over Sinop nuclear project

YENİ Party Members of Parliament Deniz Yavuzyılmaz and Sibel Suiçmez visited the Sinop Journalists Association to discuss professional challenges facing media workers. Cengiz Demirel, President of the Association, emphasized the urgent need for a press profession law to protect field reporters from employer exploitation.

Following the visit, Yavuzyılmaz raised concerns regarding the planned nuclear power plant project in Sinop. He criticized the management structure of Akkuyu Nuclear AŞ, alleging that the board of directors contains no Turkish members, consisting instead of Russian and French representatives. Yavuzyılmaz further claimed that based on financial reports, Russia is projected to earn $180 billion in net profit from the Akkuyu plant by the year 2088.
