Yeni Yol party seeks parliamentary group status in Turkey

The Yeni Yol party has fallen below the 20-member threshold required to maintain parliamentary group status in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey following the resignation of DEVA Party Gaziantep Deputy Ertuğrul Kaya.

Political maneuvers are underway to restore the group's status. Discussions in parliamentary circles suggest several transfer formulas, including the possibility of a deputy from the Republican People's Party (CHP) or the Yeniden Refah Party joining Yeni Yol.

CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is reportedly involved in contacts to maintain opposition balance in the Assembly. CHP officials have framed such potential transfers as a means to preserve political diversity and inclusivity within the parliament, citing a previous instance where CHP Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap joined the group to ensure its continued existence.
