Yeniboğaziçi Pulya and International Folk Dance festivals begin

The 15th Yeniboğaziçi Pulya Festival and the 6th International Folk Dance Festival have officially commenced in Yeniboğaziçi. The event opened with a parade and a ceremonial lighting of the festival fire by President Tufan Erhürman, CTP Chairperson Sıla Usar İncirli, Yeniboğaziçi Mayor Esen Beyköylü, and Culture Department Director Ayşe Güler Akın.

Speakers at the opening emphasized the importance of the festival in preserving cultural heritage and bridging the gap between the past and the future. The Pulya Festival, named after the migratory bird, aims to bring different cultures together. The opening festivities included folk dance performances and a concert by artist Fatma Turgut. The festival is scheduled to continue until August 21.
