Yenişehir Municipality demolishes abandoned building in Mersin

Yenişehir Municipality has demolished a two-story abandoned building in the Kocavilayet neighborhood of Mersin to mitigate public safety and health risks. The structure had been left derelict for an extended period, posing threats such as potential collapse, environmental pollution, and security concerns for local residents.

Following inspections by the Directorate of Reconstruction and Urbanism, the property owner was notified and granted a 30-day period to take necessary precautions. When no action was taken within the legal timeframe, the municipality completed the legal processes and carried out the demolition via the Directorate of Science Affairs.
