Yenişehir Municipality hosts 315th Suriçi İstanbul Platform meeting

The Yenişehir Municipality hosted the 315th meeting of the Suriçi İstanbul Platform, a tradition spanning 36 years known as the Politics, Economy, and Civilization Meetings. Held at the Şehit Astsubay Ömer Halisdemir Cultural Center, the event brought together Bursa Governor Erol Ayyıldız, former governors, bureaucrats, and representatives from various political parties and non-governmental organizations.

A central feature of the program was a conference by Yusuf Tülün, President of the İlim Yayma Society, titled ‘Raising Good People.’ Tülün emphasized that while talent can lead to success, character is what sustains it, urging the development of youth through a combination of academic achievement, morality, justice, and humility.

Mayor Ercan Özel highlighted the historical significance of Yenişehir, noting its critical role in the transition of the Ottoman Empire from a principality to a state. He stated that the region served as a vital center where early state structures, urbanization, and civilization concepts began to take shape.
