Yeoju City Council concludes 83rd regular session

The Yeoju City Council has concluded its 83rd first regular session, which ran for 23 days from September 7 to September 29. During this period, several committees finalized various legislative and budgetary matters.

The Ordinance Review Special Committee approved 24 ordinances and 3 rules, while the Budget and Accounts Special Committee confirmed the second supplementary budget, increasing it by 11.50% to a total of 1.0202548 trillion won. Additionally, the Public Property Management Special Committee approved two new land acquisitions, including the expansion of the Heungcheon-myeon Cultural Welfare Center site.

The Administrative Affairs Audit Special Committee presented 341 audit results and opinions, including 274 requests for improvement. Notably, the committee pointed out regulatory violations regarding the public sewage connection project for Yeoju Prison and demanded immediate ordinance amendments to protect the city's finances. Council Speaker Park Du-hyeong emphasized that the executive branch must promptly implement corrections and improvements based on these audit findings.
