Yeoju City digitizes development permits, reducing paper use by 350,000 sheets

Yeoju City has successfully digitized its development permit process through the implementation of the Integrated Permit Support System (IPSS). Since its introduction, the system has managed 4,363 new and modified permit cases, resulting in an estimated reduction of approximately 350,000 sheets of paper.

The transition to electronic management of applications, drawings, and attachments has significantly improved administrative efficiency. The average processing time for new development permits has decreased from 26.67 days in 2023 to 16.54 days in the first seven months of the current year, representing a reduction of about 10 days or 38%.

Due to these results, officials from Gwangju City's Urban Development and Forestry departments visited Yeoju City to study the IPSS operations. The benchmarking session included discussions on system interface usage, integration with existing administrative systems, database construction for legacy paper documents, and server management.
