Yeoju City to launch ‘Happy Table’ elderly meal delivery service

Yeoju City is launching the ‘Happy Table’ project on October 7 to support the healthy diet and community care of elderly residents at local senior centers. The initiative involves professional agencies cooking, packaging, and delivering side dishes to senior centers twice a week.

A pilot program will run through the end of December in six areas, including Jeomdong-myeon, Yeoheung-dong, Jungang-dong, Buknae-myeon, Gangcheon-myeon, and Ohak-dong. The Yeoju Senior Club and the Yeoju Local Self-Sufficiency Center will manage the operations by dividing the service zones.

The project aims to go beyond simple food support by encouraging seniors to gather at community centers to share meals and social connections. The city has established a management system covering cooking, packaging, delivery, and hygiene to ensure safety and quality.
