Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation hosts Hangeul design exhibition

The Yeoju Sejong Culture and Tourism Foundation is hosting a special exhibition titled ‘Sejong’s Heart Hangeul, Coloring Yeoju’ at the Geumeunmorae Small Art Museum. Running from October 27 to November 11, the event commemorates the 580th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunminjeongeum, the 100th anniversary of Hangeul Day, and the 10th anniversary of the Sejong Hangeul Design Competition.

Co-organized with the Sejong Hangeul Culture Forum, the exhibition showcases the aesthetic and scientific value of Hangeul through design. Over the past decade, the national design competition has identified 500 artists and produced approximately 1,000 works and 200 cultural products. The exhibition aims to promote Hangeul as a unique regional asset for Yeoju, a city home to the Royal Tomb of King Sejong.

Admission is free. Visitors can participate in a popularity vote for 50 selected cultural products intended for commercialization. The opening ceremony on October 27 will feature a flute performance and a discussion on the sustainable future of Hangeul culture.
