Yeon Sang-ho releases new horror film ‘Zona Cero’

Director Yeon Sang-ho, known for ‘Train to Busan’, has released his new horror film ‘Zona Cero’ (also known as ‘Colony’ or ‘Gunche’) in cinemas across Latin America following its screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film is set within the facilities of the pharmaceutical company Chains Bio during an international biotechnology congress. The plot follows a viral mutation triggered by a disgruntled former scientist, Young-cheol, who releases a rapidly mutating virus. The outbreak introduces a unique biological element where the infected operate with hive-mind intelligence, allowing them to cooperate and decipher human escape plans.

Amidst the chaos, researcher Kwon Se-jeong, played by Jun Ji-hyun, leads a group of survivors attempting to resist the plague and the government's decision to hermetically seal the building to prevent a global disaster.
