Yeongcheon City provides monthly rent support to 72 young residents

Yeongcheon City has announced the selection of 72 individuals to receive monthly rent support aimed at reducing housing costs and encouraging local settlement among young residents.

The support is divided into two programs: 32 recipients were selected through a Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport project, and 40 recipients were chosen through a Yeongcheon-specific initiative for young workers. Recipients of the national program, aged 19 to 34, will receive up to 200,000 KRW per month for a maximum of 24 months, provided they meet specific income and asset requirements.

The city’s independent program offers broader eligibility, covering young workers with household incomes up to 120% of the median income. These participants will receive up to 200,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months, totaling a maximum of 2.4 million KRW annually. Mayor Kim Byung-sam stated that these policies are designed to create an environment where young people can live and grow stably within the region.
