Yeongcheon prepares for 23rd Bohyeonsan Starlight Festival

Yeongcheon City is finalizing preparations for the 23rd Bohyeonsan Starlight Festival, scheduled to take place from October 9 to 11 near the Bohyeonsan Astronomical Science Museum. During a recent planning meeting attended by city officials and festival committee members, organizers reviewed programs, visitor convenience, transportation, and safety management.

This year’s festival focuses on enhancing hands-on experiences to reinforce its identity as an astronomy and science event. Key improvements include expanding VR experience zones and converting traditional sales booths into interactive participation stations. To address previous visitor feedback regarding amenities, the city will introduce a ‘Starlight Dumpling Zone’ featuring local specialties, alongside food trucks and expanded rest areas.

The event aims to be a stay-over festival, combining celestial observations and constellation experiences with various performances and exhibitions to engage visitors from day to night. Mayor Kim Byeong-sam emphasized that safety remains the top priority while ensuring a rich program for tourists and citizens.
