Yeongdeungpo-gu implements safety measures for Seoul World Fireworks Festival
Yeongdeungpo-gu has announced comprehensive safety and traffic measures for the 2026 Seoul World Fireworks Festival, held at Yeouido Hangang Park on September 4 and 5. To manage large crowds, the district will deploy an administrative support team of 452 personnel to oversee crowd control, emergency medical services, and sanitation.
Significant traffic restrictions will be implemented. The Yeouido Hangang Park parking lot in front of the 63 Building will be closed from the evening of September 4 until midnight on September 5. Wonhyo Bridge will face full closure from the morning of September 5 until early morning on September 6, while Yeouidong-ro will be closed to vehicles on September 5 from 3:00 PM to midnight.
To assist commuters, public transportation will be increased, with 83 additional subway runs scheduled across Lines 5 and 9. Additionally, 26 bus routes passing through Yeouido will receive increased frequency during peak evening hours. Authorities noted that Yeouinaru Station may implement non-stop service or temporary entrance closures depending on crowd density.
