Yeongjong Education Support Office to open in March 2027
The Yeongjong Education Support Office is scheduled to officially open on March 1, 2027. During the 313th extraordinary session of the Incheon Metropolitan Council, Council Member Kim Kwang-ho questioned Incheon Superintendent Do Seong-hun regarding the preparations for the new office.
Currently, the Yeongjong area serves 18,422 students across 38 educational institutions. Residents and school officials have previously faced inconveniences by having to travel to the Southern Education Support Office located inland to handle administrative matters. The establishment of the new office aims to provide localized educational administration services.
Superintendent Do Seong-hun stated that an establishment promotion center is currently working on determining the organizational structure and staffing levels. To manage personnel within the constraints of the total labor cost system, the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education plans to reallocate staff by adjusting overlapping duties between the main office and the new support office.
Regarding facilities, the office will initially operate out of a temporary building, with plans to secure a permanent headquarters in the medium to long term. Relevant ordinance amendments and the necessary budget are expected to be submitted during upcoming council sessions.
