Yeosu City launches 24-hour response center for 2026 Island Expo

Yeosu City has launched a Comprehensive Complaint Management Center to provide a 24-hour response system for the upcoming 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo. The center serves as a centralized control tower, integrating various channels such as the national e-People portal, the Yeosu City call center, and the Expo Organizing Committee.

To ensure rapid communication, the city is utilizing a ‘mobile complaint processing hotline’ via online group chats. This system involves 21 municipal departments and 19 related agencies, including the police, fire department, and coast guard. Complaints are categorized into three types: internal venue issues (exhibitions, facilities), external issues (accommodation, dining, transportation), and safety incidents requiring inter-agency cooperation.

Under the current system, the center operates from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with a home-based standby system in place overnight to ensure immediate field deployment for emergencies. The city aims to implement a ‘48-hour field inspection’ policy for all reported issues. Additionally, officials will perform daily data analysis on complaint trends to prevent recurring problems through preemptive inspections.
