Yeosu World Island Expo attracts 80,000 visitors during October holidays
The 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo saw a significant surge in attendance during the first holiday period of October, with approximately 80,000 visitors arriving over two days. On October 2, about 44,000 people visited, followed by 36,000 on October 3.
The expo has integrated daytime exhibitions and hands-on experiences with nighttime cultural programs. Recent highlights included the ‘Seomseom Concert’ to support the bid for COP33, fireworks displays over the Yeosu sea, and large-scale trot music concerts. Upcoming scheduled events include a musical performance by Choi Jeong-won on October 5, the Yeosu Jazz Festival on October 9, and a special show titled ‘THE BIG SHOW’ featuring Park Kyung-rim and Ivy on October 10.
To encourage more visitors, the organizing committee has expanded free admission benefits. Throughout October, children under 12 visiting with companions can receive free entry for up to two additional people. Additionally, seniors aged 65 and older, residents of Busan and Jeju, and residents of inhabited islands nationwide are eligible for free admission during specific periods.
