Yeosu World Island Expo chairman conducts final preparations

Park Su-kwan, chairman of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo Organizing Committee, is conducting final preparations and promotional activities ahead of the event's opening on September 5.

During a recent site inspection, Park reviewed major facilities including the main venue and yacht mooring areas. The inspection focused on visitor safety, movement paths, and convenience. Key improvements identified include reinforcing lighting for junk art in the marine ecology zone and deploying additional transport carts to improve mobility between the yacht mooring area and the main venue.

In a separate effort to boost public awareness, Park visited Hongbeopsa Temple in Busan to request support from religious and local communities. The committee is actively engaging with various organizations to attract domestic and international visitors for the 61-day expo, which will be held in Yeosu under the theme ‘Islands, Connecting the Sea and the Future’.
