Yerevan sees surge in Russian renters amid mobilization fears
Realtors in Armenia’s capital Yerevan report a sharp rise in demand for rental apartments from Russian citizens fearing a new mobilization wave ahead of the Russian State Duma elections scheduled for 18–20 September 2026.
Within the last three months, rental prices have jumped roughly 30%. Online search activity for “apartments in Yerevan” reached 5,200 queries in the week of 13‑19 July 2026, surpassing the volume recorded during the February‑March 2022 invasion period and matching the autumn‑2022 mobilization spike.
Telegram channels used by Russians seeking housing show daily postings from families, single men and women, many planning to arrive in August‑September. Realtors warn that normal rental options are disappearing as the summer influx approaches.
