Yerköprü Waterfall attracts tourists in Mersin

The Yerköprü Waterfall, located in the Mut district of Mersin, is attracting significant attention from domestic and international tourists. Registered as one of Turkey’s 110 natural monuments by the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, the site is protected as a nature park.

Formed approximately 110 million years ago during the Cretaceous period, the waterfall flows over the Ermenek Stream through deep valleys and the Gezende Canyon. The site features a 30-meter drop where water flows through a tunnel containing natural stalactites and diverse vegetation, including fig, pomegranate, and plane trees.

The area is equipped with walking paths, bridges, stairs, resting areas, and observation terraces to facilitate visitor experiences. Due to its unique ecosystem and scenic beauty, it has become a popular destination, particularly during hot weather.
