Yes Bulgaria Party Picks New Plovdiv Chair as Leaders Weigh Iliana Yotova Presidential Bid
Bozhidar Bozh anov, deputy chair of the "Yes Bulgaria" party, said on Darik Radio that if Iliana Yotova wins the upcoming presidential election it would amount to a third term for President Rumen Radev and that the "Progressive Bulgaria" coalition is likely to support her. He warned against concentrating power in one political player, criticized Yotova’s limited opposition to the government, and urged a clearer pro‑European stance, noting the United States as a key strategic partner.
On 26 July the party elected Dr. Borislav Mateev as its new chair in Plovdiv, forming an executive council that includes engineer Marina Manolova, councilor Veselina Aleksandrova, Dimitr Zgurov and entrepreneur Kostadin Popanastassov. Mateev outlined four priorities for the city: improved transport and urban environment, expanded early‑education facilities, cleaner air and health, and a better business climate with university partnerships.
