Yesenia Then defends ministry finances amid Dominican tax scrutiny
Pastor Yesenia Then of the Centro Cristiano Soplo de Vida responded to media reports questioning the handling of her ministry's funds. In a video released on digital platforms, she affirmed that the church does not enjoy a tax exemption and that both the church and its affiliated training school, Trasciende, are current with all tax obligations, citing certifications issued by the Dominican Republic’s Dirección General de Impuestos Internos (DGII) on 21 July and 27 July.
She explained that all donations are overseen by a financial committee and are not used for personal benefit. Regarding the Ciudad Refugio project, intended to assist vulnerable children, she said construction remains stalled because land titles have not yet been secured, but a pilot program approved by the Consejo Nacional para la Niñez y la Adolescencia (CONANI) is already providing shelter, education, medical and psychological services to children under its care. She also offered to submit the ministry to any audit by the authorities.
