Yesh Atid undergoes restructuring ahead of Israeli elections

The Israeli political party Yesh Atid is undergoing significant restructuring as it prepares for upcoming elections. Party leader Yair Lapid is currently the only remaining member of the original founding team from 2013. The party is facing a wave of departures from veteran members, most recently including former Energy Minister Karen Elharar, who announced she will not run in the next Knesset elections.

In a strategic move, Lapid has presented the Yesh Atid candidates for the B’Yachad joint list, an alliance formed with former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. Under this agreement, Yesh Atid is allocated four of the top ten positions and nearly half of the top fifteen spots on the joint candidacy. The list features Merav Ben-Ari in the second position, followed by retired general Noam Tibon, Meirav Cohen, and Ram Ben Barak.

While the alliance between Bennett and Lapid initially showed strong polling numbers, recent surveys suggest a decline in momentum as other political formations, such as Gadi Eisenkot’s Yashar party, gain support. The joint B’Yachad list is currently polling between 12 and 15 seats.
