Yettel launches HiperNet optical broadband service in Hungary

Yettel, previously known mainly as a mobile operator, has introduced a wired optical broadband service called HiperNet in Hungary. The service uses the fiber and HFC infrastructure of 2Connect, a wholesale network provider, rather than Yettel’s own cables. HiperNet offers gigabit‑speed connections and includes a modern Wi‑Fi 7 router, available in two package tiers.

The new offering complements Yettel’s existing 5G‑based OtthonNet mobile broadband, allowing customers to choose between mobile and fixed solutions. Yettel says the combined technologies make high‑speed internet accessible to more than 90 % of Hungarian households. Subscriptions can be ordered via the Yettel app or at any of its retail locations, and the service can be bundled with Yettel’s Full discount program for additional price reductions.
