Yettel reports 40% increase in mobile data consumption
Yettel has reported a nearly 40 percent increase in mobile network data consumption compared to the previous year. This growth is primarily driven by social media and video content, with YouTube usage rising by approximately 30 percent and Instagram and TikTok usage increasing by 20 percent. Some high-consumption users are reportedly using more than 500 GB of data per day.
During a telecommunications trends panel held at the Palace of Science, Yettel was recognized for winning three independent international awards for the best mobile network in Serbia: the Ookla Speedtest Award, P3 Test Champion, and umlaut Best in Test. This makes the company the only operator in the country to have its quality confirmed by all three independent measurements.
General Director Mike Michel stated that the company is focusing on investments in 5G technology to ensure speed, stability, and reliability. According to Kantar research from the first half of 2026, Yettel ranked first in five key quality attributes: quality, mobile and internet coverage, speed, and reliability/stability. The company plans to continue expanding 5G coverage and capacity in populated areas, along major highways, and railway corridors.
