Yeyson Paredes completes 600-kilometer pilgrimage in Venezuela

Yeyson Paredes, known as ‘El Peregrino de Los Andes’, has completed an 83-day pilgrimage covering more than 600 kilometers across Venezuela. The journey began on June 8 at the Sanctuary of Niño Jesús in Isnotú, the birthplace of José Gregorio Hernández, and concluded on August 30 at the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria in Caracas.

The 29-year-old walked through the states of Trujillo, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Carabobo, Aragua, and Caracas to promote devotion to the ‘Doctor of the Poor.’ Paredes stated his goal was to carry faith to homes, hospitals, and communities. He noted that his devotion was a legacy inherited from his grandmother.

During the trek, Paredes paused for seven days in Biscucuy, Portuguesa, to honor victims of a recent double earthquake.
