YFORE Technology unveils ODMS in-cabin sensing system
YFORE Technology, a global Tier-1 automotive supplier, has unveiled its Occupant & Driver Monitoring System (ODMS). The announcement coincides with the official opening of the company's North American manufacturing facility in Suwanee, Georgia.
The ODMS utilizes a multimodal architecture that combines a smart mirror equipped with a high-definition camera and automotive-grade cabin radar. This integration is designed to overcome the limitations of traditional vision-only systems, such as blind spots caused by seatbacks or occupants being obscured by clothing and blankets.
The system tracks seven core functions, including driver fatigue, distraction, phone use, seatbelt status, and occupant classification. By using radar to penetrate physical obstructions, the technology can detect micro-breathing in rear seats and footwells, providing comprehensive 3D spatial coverage to assist automakers in achieving high safety ratings, such as the Euro NCAP five-star rating.
