Yi Ou Chun drama starring Xu Kai and Zhou Ye to premiere on iQIYI

The historical romance drama ‘Yi Ou Chun’, starring Xu Kai and Zhou Ye, is scheduled to premiere on iQIYI on September 17. The series follows the reunion of two characters, Shen Run and Xie Qingyuan, who transition from mutual suspicion to becoming allies in a quest for revenge.

Key highlights of the production include a focus on ‘strong-strong’ character dynamics, where both protagonists rise from vulnerability to positions of power. The plot intertwines domestic intrigue within wealthy households with political maneuvering in the imperial court. The production utilized real-world locations in the Puyuan Fashion Ancient Town in Zhejiang to capture Song Dynasty aesthetics, eschewing green-screen filming for authentic scenery.
