Yiğitcan Çiğa Memorial Library opens in Niğde

A new library named after martyr Infantry Captain Yiğitcan Çiğa has officially opened at Yunus Emre Anatolian High School in Niğde, Turkey. The project originated from a letter written by the martyr's teacher, Selma Arıcı, after she was inspired by a radio program.

The opening ceremony was attended by local officials, including Niğde Deputy Governor Baha Büyükkaymakcı and Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Uslu, alongside the martyr's family and students. The initiative was supported by the Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Social Contribution Coordination, the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and school administration.

During the ceremony, Deputy Governor Büyükkaymakcı emphasized that investing in well-educated generations is the strongest investment for a city's future. Rector Uslu noted that the university aims to integrate with the city by creating educational spaces, such as libraries and intelligence game classrooms, in local schools to honor martyrs.
