Yiwu couple with identical names causes system error during marriage registration

A couple in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, with the exact same name, Zhu Xiaocong, recently married on October 6. Both individuals work in the civil aviation industry; the groom is an aviation security officer and the bride is a flight attendant.

The couple first encountered each other at a recruitment fair in 2016 when both stood up simultaneously upon hearing their name called. They began dating in 2019 after being introduced by a mutual acquaintance.

Their identical names caused technical difficulties during administrative processes. When attempting to register their marriage and process property certificates, government computer systems failed to distinguish between the two individuals, leading to system errors. Officials eventually had to complete the registration through manual processing. To avoid confusion, family and friends have begun referring to the groom as ‘Da Cong’ and the bride as ‘Xiao Cong’.
