Yıldırım Municipality launches home-based employment program for women
Yıldırım Municipality has launched the Home-Based Women's Employment Program to increase women's participation in economic life. Implemented by the Yıldırım Municipality Cooperativism Development Center (KOGEM) and managed by the Directorate of Women and Family Services, the initiative allows women who face difficulties entering the traditional workforce due to family responsibilities to generate income through production from their homes.
The program is currently active across 15 neighborhoods in the district. To date, 88 women have participated in the program, utilizing the opportunity to contribute to their household budgets without neglecting domestic duties.
Yıldırım Mayor Oktay Yılmaz stated that the municipality prioritizes strengthening women's labor and aims to expand the program to reach a wider demographic in the future, viewing such initiatives as an investment in the city's future.
