Turkey's municipalities upgrade roads and transport services
Municipal authorities across Turkey are carrying out extensive road‑modernisation and transport‑service projects. In Kahramanmaraş, the metropolitan municipality widened a 5‑km rural road from 6 m to 12 m and resurfaced it with hot asphalt, improving access for several villages and the link to Gaziantep. Ataşehir’s district administration continues round‑the‑clock cleaning, maintenance and larvicide spraying of streets, parks and drainage to keep the area safe and hygienic.
In Eskişehir, MHP deputy Erdoğan Deliktaş criticised the closure of a pedestrian sidewalk at a historic halkevi construction site, urging the city to restore safe crossing space. Antalya’s metropolitan transport department announced that buses must stop for any waiting passenger, with fines to be imposed on non‑compliant vehicles. Ortahisar, Yıldırım (Bursa), and other districts such as Aydın and Efeler reported continuous road‑building, resurfacing, concrete work and new road openings, often coordinating with local muhtars to address community needs. These efforts aim to enhance safety, reduce travel times and improve the overall quality of public infrastructure throughout the country.
