Ylli Zalla ordered to prison by Tirana Court

The Tirana Court has ordered the arrest in prison of Ylli Zalla following his recent apprehension. Despite defense arguments for lighter security measures, the court rejected the request and ordered Zalla to be detained.

Defense attorney Dritan Gila argued that Zalla poses no significant social risk. The defense contended that the seized weapons—described as old Chinese-made models from the 1980s—and ammunition were found in an unorganized state among scrap metal in the rear of a residence, rather than being prepared for use. The attorney further claimed that some detonators were non-functional and certain explosive devices were improperly connected, making them incapable of causing an explosion.

Regarding the narcotics found at the scene, the defense stated the cannabis was exposed to atmospheric factors and lacked specialized packaging. Additionally, the attorney noted that Zalla was not captured by force during the police operation involving drones, but instead chose to surrender himself through an associate to clarify his position. The defense maintained there is no evidence linking Zalla to other criminal activities or drug trafficking operations.
