YMAD approves US$22 million dividend distribution

Yacimientos Mineros Agua de Dionisio (YMAD) has unanimously approved the distribution of US$22 million in dividends for the 2025 fiscal year. Under a new corporate structure established following an agreement between the province of Catamarca and the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT), the funds will be split with 60% (US$13.2 million) allocated to Catamarca and 40% (US$8.8 million) to the UNT.

The UNT funds are designated to support the development of the Ciudad Universitaria project. Once the university's construction reaches 135,000 square meters, the 40% share will be divided equally between the UNT and the collective of national universities.

The profits are generated from the Farallón Negro underground mine located in the Belén department of Catamarca. The mine produces over 60 kilograms of gold and silver equivalents monthly, and recent exploration has extended its operational life by at least 13 years. This distribution marks the first since the company's reconfiguration, which saw the national government exit the enterprise.
