Yo Oizumi to star in Nippon TV drama ‘Ore-tachi no Hakone Ekiden’

Nippon Television has announced the cast and details for its upcoming Saturday night drama, ‘Ore-tachi no Hakone Ekiden’, based on the novel by Jun Ikeido. The series, scheduled to premiere in the autumn of 2026, follows the professional lives of television staff managing the Hakone Ekiden broadcast and the youth of the university runners competing in the race.

Yo Oizumi stars as Ryo Tokushige, a chief producer at Dainichi TV. The cast includes Sairi Ito as center director Natsuki Miyamoto, Anna Yamada as assistant director Chika Toyama, and various actors playing television executives and student runners. Other cast members include Katsuya Takahashi, Kanji Ishimaru, and Fumiyo Kohinata.

In conjunction with the series, Bungeishunju will release an official guidebook on December 7, 2026. Supervised by Nippon Television and the Kanto Student Athletics Federation, the book will feature interviews with the cast, including Yo Oizumi and Sairi Ito, as well as coverage of the student runners and a guide to the Hakone Ekiden course.
