YOASOBI to perform theme song for NHK drama ‘Blossom’

The musical duo YOASOBI will perform the theme song for the NHK morning drama series ‘Blossom’, scheduled to begin broadcasting on September 28, 2026. The song has been titled ‘Sakihokore’.

The drama is inspired by the life of Chiyo Uno, a writer who lived through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. Novelist Risa Wataya, an admirer of Uno, has written the original novel for the series.

Composer Ayase noted that the creative process involved visiting Iwakuni City in Yamaguchi Prefecture, the birthplace of Chiyo Uno, to draw inspiration from her energy and background. Vocalist ikura expressed that the song aims to reflect the resilience of the protagonist, Juha Yano, as she navigates life's various emotions.
