YOASOBI to release theme song for NHK drama ‘Blossom’

The musical unit YOASOBI will release the digital single ‘Sakihokore’ on October 14, 2026. The track serves as the theme song for the NHK morning drama series ‘Blossom,’ which is inspired by the life of writer Chiyo Uno.

To create the song, YOASOBI member Ayase visited the hometown of Chiyo Uno in Yamaguchi Prefecture to draw inspiration from her life. The production features YOASOBI’s first orchestral recording, with arrangements by Yuya Namidachi and performances by Ensemble FOVE. The track also incorporates live recordings of chorus, stomps, and claps by members of the acoustic session unit ‘Plasonica.’

An NHK special program will feature a conversation between the drama’s lead actress, Shizuka Ishibashi, and YOASOBI. The program will discuss the production of the theme song and the title sequence, which includes choreography by Tomohiko Tsujimoto designed to reflect Ishibashi’s portrayal of the protagonist.
