Yogi Adityanath claims Modi leadership could have prevented 1947 Partition

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the 1947 Partition of India might not have occurred if Narendra Modi had been Prime Minister at the time. Speaking at events in Lucknow and Siddharthnagar to mark the anniversary of the Partition, Adityanath described the event as one of the “darkest chapters” in human history.

Adityanath criticized the Indian National Congress, alleging that the party’s “hunger for power” and focus on maintaining vote banks led to the fragmentation of the nation. He claimed that the Congress party failed to protect Hindu minorities and did not punish those responsible for the violence. He further suggested that leadership similar to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel or Narendra Modi would have prevented the division of the country.
