Yogi Adityanath inaugurates 50th India Carpet Expo in Bhadohi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the golden jubilee edition of the 50th India Carpet Expo in Bhadohi. The four-day event features 223 exhibitors and aims to connect local artisans with global markets through improved technology, design, and direct dialogue with exporters.

On the first day, the expo attracted 147 foreign buyers from 32 countries and 146 buying representatives. Organizers anticipate business orders exceeding 1,000 crore rupees. During his visit, the Chief Minister toured various stalls, including Global Overseas, praising the quality and craftsmanship of the handmade carpets.

Local stakeholders have urged the government to fully operationalize the Bhadohi Carpet Mart, similar to the Noida Mart, to establish the region as a permanent and active international trading hub for weavers, manufacturers, and exporters.
