Yogi Adityanath launches farmer loan scheme and Lucknow housing projects
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched several major development initiatives in Lucknow, focusing on agricultural support and urban housing.
Under the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, farmers in the state can now access long-term loans of up to 600,000 rupees at a reduced interest rate of 6 percent. This is a significant decrease from the previous rates of 11 to 11.5 percent provided by cooperative gram development banks. The government has allocated 384 crore rupees for this scheme, aiming to benefit 500,000 farmers over the next five years through an online portal.
Additionally, the Chief Minister inaugurated two large-scale residential projects in Lucknow, Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar, with a combined investment of 12,000 crore rupees. Spanning over 10,680 acres, these projects are expected to provide housing for approximately 800,000 people. The developments are part of the broader State Capital Region (SCR) infrastructure plan.
In the transport sector, the Bharat Taxi initiative was launched, involving a memorandum of understanding between the Airport Authority, Lucknow Metro Rail, and Lucknow Police. The program also includes the distribution of share certificates to Bharat Taxi drivers.
