Yogi Adityanath reviews Varanasi preparations for PM Modi visit and air show
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Varanasi on Saturday for a two-day visit to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit and an upcoming air show. During a meeting with officials at the Circuit House, the Chief Minister emphasized balancing security with public convenience.
Adityanath instructed officials to ensure easy access to the Ganga ghats for the public, specifically requesting that unnecessary barricading be avoided to prevent movement restrictions. To accommodate expected crowds, the administration has planned effective traffic diversions, sufficient parking spaces, and robust security measures.
Sanitation and utility preparations include the deployment of 200 cleaning volunteers, 2,000 dustbins, 200 mobile toilets, and 280 water tankers across the ghats and major routes. Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal reported that silt cleaning at the ghats has been completed to facilitate better access and cleanliness for spectators.
