Yogi Adityanath targets mafias and announces jobs for athletes
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that mafia activities, including education, sports, and drug mafias, are the greatest enemies of youth power. Speaking at the conclusion of a state-level wrestling competition at the Gorakhnath Temple complex, he emphasized that the government is taking strict action, such as seizing properties, against those who jeopardize the lives and futures of young people.
Adityanath criticized previous administrations, alleging they neglected sports and youth interests, instead allowing systems to fall under mafia control. He noted that current initiatives like ‘Khelo India’ and ‘Fit India’ have transformed the sports culture in the region.
Regarding employment, the Chief Minister announced that 500 more medal-winning athletes will be provided with government jobs in the UP Police and other departments within the next month. He highlighted that over 500 athletes have already received positions ranging from Assistant Director to Deputy SP. Additionally, the state government offers significant cash rewards for Olympic medalists: 6 crore rupees for gold, 4 crore for silver, and 2 crore for bronze.
