Yogurt-based summer recipes and traditional drinks

Various yogurt-based culinary ideas and traditional drinks are highlighted as healthy alternatives for summer. One method for using surplus garden fruit involves creating a quick frozen dessert. By spreading a mixture of full-fat Greek yogurt or skyr, honey, and lemon juice onto a baking sheet in a thin layer and adding fresh berries, nuts, or seeds, one can create frozen yogurt bark after two to three hours in the freezer.

Additionally, the traditional yogurt drink known as ayran is noted for its refreshing properties. Common in Turkey, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and the Middle East, ayran is prepared by mixing white yogurt with cold water and a small amount of salt. It serves as a nutritious alternative to sweetened lemonades, providing protein and calcium.
