Daihatsu and Mitsubishi report growth in Indonesia automotive market

Daihatsu has reported retail sales of 84,959 units in Indonesia from January to July 2026, marking a 6.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year. July 2026 sales specifically grew by 13.6 percent year-on-year. The Gran Max series remains the primary contributor, accounting for over half of the total sales. Daihatsu currently holds a 16.6 percent market share in the national automotive market.

Mitsubishi Motors also reported positive growth across multiple sectors in Indonesia during the first seven months of 2026. Retail sales reached 40,331 units, an 8.2 percent increase from the previous year. Additionally, Mitsubishi saw a 20.1 percent rise in vehicle production, totaling 112,500 units, which outpaced the national automotive industry's production growth of 10.4 percent.
