Yogyakarta International Airport adds new bus and train schedules for 2026
Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) will introduce an expanded DAMRI bus service on 1 July 2026. The service, priced at 80,000 IDR per passenger, will run hourly from early morning until late evening on routes linking the airport with key points in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, including Sleman City Hall, Terminal Condongcatur, the DAMRI pool in Yogyakarta, a Trans Jogja stop at Gamping, and the DAMRI station. The schedule aims to provide reliable, integrated public transport and reduce reliance on private vehicles.
A day earlier, on 30 June 2026, PT Kereta Api Indonesia will operate the KA Xpress airport train. The non‑stop service between Stasiun Tugu Yogyakarta and YIA will cost 50,000 IDR and run from 06:00 to 21:30 with multiple departures each hour. Additional early‑morning trips will be added on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to accommodate higher passenger volumes. The train offers a 35–40 minute journey, modern facilities, and air‑conditioned comfort, further enhancing connectivity between the city centre and the airport.
