Yogyakarta International Airport expands bus and rail links for travelers
The state‑run DAMRI bus company now operates multiple high‑frequency routes to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). Buses depart from Sleman City Hall, Condongcatur Terminal, Trans Jogja Gamping, and other city hubs at hourly intervals from early morning until night, with tickets around IDR 80,000. A separate inter‑city service runs three times daily between Jogja and Semarang for about IDR 70,000, aiming to ease road congestion and reduce emissions.
Rail service to YIA is also intensified. The airport train runs regular and Xpress services between Tugu and the airport, with departures from early dawn to late evening. Regular trains offer many time slots, while Xpress trains complete the trip faster for a fare near IDR 50,000. Both modes provide climate‑controlled cars, digital ticketing and reliable, traffic‑free travel, giving passengers more flexible and affordable options to reach flights.
