Yogyakarta International Airport launches updated 2026 train and bus timetables
The Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) in Kulon Progo will be served by an expanded rail service operated by PT Kereta Api Indonesia. The regular schedule for June 6 2026 includes departures from Tugu Jogja to YIA at 05:16, 06:20, 07:46, 09:53, 11:35, 13:25, 14:56, 15:20, 17:00, 17:34, 19:46 and 20:55 WIB, with a faster Xpress service priced at roughly Rp50,000 and stopping fewer times. The rail line is promoted as a congestion‑free, punctual link that also cuts vehicle emissions.
Public‑transport bus operator DAMRI will run hourly services between YIA and several points in Jogja, including Sleman City Hall, Condongcatur Terminal, Gamping Trans‑Jogja halt and the DAMRI pool, with fares around Rp80,000. Additional inter‑city trips to Semarang are offered three times daily for ≈Rp70,000. DAMRI’s schedule runs from early morning to late evening, integrating with Trans‑Jogja to improve overall mobility and reduce private‑car traffic.
Both modes aim to support growing passenger volumes, ease road congestion and promote environmentally‑friendly travel for tourists and business travelers alike.
