Yogyakarta International Airport expands services with new rail schedule and Umrah charter flights
Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) introduced an extensive timetable for its airport rail link, offering regular and Xpress services between the airport and Tugu Jogja. The Xpress trains run at higher speeds with limited stops and fares starting around Rp40,000, while regular trains operate throughout the day with fares from Rp10,000.
The airport also began operating eleven charter Umrah flights to Saudi Arabia using Garuda Indonesia A330‑343 aircraft. General Manager Muhammad Thamrin said two flights have already carried 593 pilgrims to Jeddah and Madinah, serving travelers from Yogyakarta, Banjarmasin, Pontianak and Palangkaraya. He highlighted the airport’s readiness for future regular YIA‑Jeddah and YIA‑Madinah services.
