Yogyakarta International Airport transport sees high passenger volume
KAI Bandara reported that 41,483 passengers utilized the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) train services during the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations from August 14 to 18, 2026. This total includes 28,436 passengers on the Regular YIA service and 13,047 on the Xpress service.
To commemorate the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence, KAI Bandara staff wore traditional Indonesian clothing to enhance the passenger experience and celebrate cultural diversity. Company Communication Manager Ayep Hanapi stated that the momentum was an opportunity to provide the best service to the community.
In addition to rail services, DAMRI bus routes provide ongoing connectivity between YIA and various locations in Yogyakarta and Sleman. Available routes include destinations such as Sleman City Hall, the DAMRI Yogyakarta Pool, Condongcatur Terminal, Trans Jogja Gamping Halt, and the Yogyakarta DAMRI Station, with fares set at Rp80,000 per passenger.
