Yogyakarta official calls for digital ecosystem to boost youth employment
Eko Suwanto, Chairman of Commission A of the Yogyakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD DIY), is urging the Special Region of Yogyakarta provincial government to build a more integrated digital ecosystem. The initiative aims to create new job and business opportunities for young people, particularly Gen Z.
Suwanto identified four key areas for government action: strengthening digital literacy, establishing secure infrastructure, ensuring equitable distribution of ICT facilities, and managing integrated micro-data for citizens. He emphasized the necessity of personal data protection and preparedness against cybercrime and fraud.
Furthermore, Suwanto advocated for the integration of public service applications to prevent overlap and the use of technology to accelerate administrative processes, such as birth and death certificate issuance. He also suggested integrating CCTV networks from various government levels to enhance public service and regional security, particularly in tourist areas.
